Full course description
This course supports instructors in creating online learning environments where students feel seen, supported, and fully able to participate by using the Peralta Online Equity Rubric as a practical guide. The rubric focuses on eight equity‑focused areas—ranging from technology access and availability of student support resources to inclusive communication, UDL‑aligned design, attention to bias, meaningful representation, relevance, and opportunities for connection. We will also discuss Open Educational Resources (OER). You will explore options for using OER resources and reflect on the advantages and challenges of implementing OER in your courses.
At the end of the course, you will have an option to research OER options for your courses or reflect on elements of the Peralta rubric you can elevate in your courses.
