Full course description
This course guides learners through the process of creating clear, measurable, and purposeful learning outcomes that anchor an effective instructional design. Building on the foundational ideas that outcomes communicate expectations, signal what is most important, and help students track their progress, the sprint introduces the differences between goals, objectives, and outcomes while emphasizing a shift toward learner‑centered design. Participants will use Bloom’s Taxonomy to write outcomes at appropriate cognitive levels and apply the SMART technique to ensure outcomes are specific, measurable, and results‑oriented. We walk through guided steps for improving outcomes, including aligning activities with outcomes, measuring prior knowledge, and planning assessments. At the end of this course, you will practice revising course‑ and module‑level outcomes that measure and drive learning.
